
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
The Level 1 Superintendent is an entry-level field leadership role responsible for supporting daily jobsite execution under the direct supervision of a Level 3+ Superintendent or General Superintendent.
This role focuses on learning PR Construction standards for safety, schedule discipline, quality, documentation, and jobsite professionalism. Success at this level is measured by accuracy, reliability, and growth, not independent decision-making.
OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY

A Level 1 Superintendent is accountable for:
- Accurate and timely completion of assigned field tasks
- Compliance with PR safety standards at all times
- Organized, professional work areas
- Complete and timely field documentation
- Immediate escalation of issues impacting safety, quality, or the Critical Path Schedule
Failure to meet these outcomes requires immediate coaching and retraining.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Schedule Awareness & Support
- Assist with daily updates impacting the Critical Path Schedule
- Support preparation of 1-week and 3-week look-ahead schedules
- Observe sequencing and manpower flow to build schedule literacy
2. Field Execution Support
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and daily activities
- Support inspections, deliveries, and material tracking
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
3. Safety Participation
- Participate in daily stretch & flex and weekly tailgates
- Enforce PPE compliance within assigned tasks
- Immediately report unsafe conditions or behaviors
4. Quality Awareness
- Learn PR quality standards
- Identify visible deficiencies and report promptly
- Support punch list and corrective work
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Complete daily reports, photos, and redlines accurately
- Maintain inspection and delivery records
- Ensure documentation is timely and complete
6. Jobsite Professionalism
- Uphold PR jobsite standards for cleanliness, conduct, and appearance
- Represent PR Construction professionally at all times
7. Development & Coachability
- Accept coaching and feedback
- Complete required SOPs and training
- Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and learning mindset
