Project Manager II (Level 2)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager II manages defined scopes, subcontracts, and project components with moderate autonomy while continuing to develop mastery in financial controls, scheduling, contract administration, and stakeholder communication.
This role represents the transition from supporting execution to owning outcomes within scope. A Level 2 PM is expected to execute reliably, escalate appropriately, and demonstrate readiness for full project ownership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Financial & Contract Management
- Manage assigned subcontract budgets and commitments
- Prepare accurate owner billings and cost reports
- Track change events and support change order execution
- Maintain clean, auditable documentation
- Escalate financial risks early
Schedule & Operational Execution
- Support baseline and look-ahead schedules
- Coordinate subcontractor sequencing within scope
- Identify constraints and notify the Project Manager
- Support procurement of long-lead items
Quality Control & Assurance
- Enforce QC requirements for assigned scopes
- Coordinate inspections and testing
- Track deficiencies to closure
- Support closeout documentation
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Lead routine subcontractor and coordination meetings
- Communicate progress and issues clearly
- Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and consultants
- Produce accurate meeting minutes and logs
Safety & Risk Management
- Reinforce jobsite safety requirements
- Support safety documentation and reporting
- Identify risks and escalate with recommendations
Leadership & Development
- Support and mentor Level 1 Project Managers
- Demonstrate accountability and professionalism
- Accept coaching and apply feedback
Systems, Tools & Process Discipline
- Maintain accurate ProjectSight data
- Follow PR standard operating procedures
- Ensure records are current and organized
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years construction project experience
- Working knowledge of contracts, billing, and scheduling
- Proficient in ProjectSight
COMPENSATION
Pay Range: [Insert Level 2 PM pay band]
